Christchurch, New Zealand | November 30, 2014
Fran Scott and David Anderson made Canada proud at the Champion of Champions in Christchurch, New Zealand last week. The duo represented Canada in singles competition against some tough opponents. The competition was fierce and speedy greens increased the learning curve for Saskatoon native Scott. She battled hard but came up short winning one game against Hong Kong. Finishing ninth in her division was not her goal but she was happy with the experience, “I am happy with my time here in Christchurch and know this competition will help me in the future. As they say in New Zealand, onwards and upwards!”
Milton native, Anderson, had more experience with the greens and ended the Championship with a 5-6 record. He finished off strongly, battling through ridiculous rain, with wins against Argentina and Swaziland. Following his final games, Anderson spoke of the experience, “overall it was not the results I was looking for, however it was a great experience. I will take what I learned here and build on it for future competition”.
