Bowls Canada Officially Launches the “Just Roll With It” Para Bowls Program

Ottawa (ON)

The “Just Roll With It” project took place in 2021 at the Commonwealth Lawn Bowls Club in Edmonton and Nepean Lawn Bowls Club in Ottawa to pilot the running of an adapted version of the existing Learn to Bowl program for Canadians with disabilities. The goal of this program was to develop programming and resources that could be implemented by any lawn bowls club wishing to offer programming for bowlers with disabilities in a safe and welcoming way.

After the success of the pilot program, Bowls Canada is officially launching the Just Roll With It para bowls program on a national scale. Clubs can visit this page to find all the details on the program, how to get their club started, answers to the most common questions, helpful resources, and testimonials from the pilot program. Clubs who meet an accessibility facility standard and offer accessible programming can be nationally recognized as a para bowls facility.

If you are interested in finding a club that offers programming for bowlers with a disability, please look for the accessibility symbol on the map here.
