Canada’s Bowls Athletes Ready To Take On The Commonwealth

July 18, 2014

The excitement is mounting as Canadian bowlers prepare to march in the 2014 Commonwealth Games opening ceremonies on July 23, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.  Lead by Team Captains Leanne Chinery and George Whitelaw, our athletes are ready to go for gold.  Meet all the members of Canada’s Commonwealth Games Bowls Team at

The team has been centralized in Glasgow for the last two weeks to acclimatize to the greens and put the finishing polish on their strategies and tactics.

Thanks to national team supplier Kukri, the team is outfitted in gear that is both stylish and performance oriented.

You can follow our athletes’ Commonwealth journey through the Bowls Canada Facebook page and Twitter stream @bcbbowls where you will find daily updates and pictures.  Daily schedules will also be posted as they become available.

As the official broadcaster of the Games, CBC will also be posting daily updates and providing online streaming of the event.
