Expressions of Interest Being Accepted for BCB’s Chief Umpire

Expressions of interest are now being collected for those umpires who aspire to be BCB’s Chief Umpire. Candidates must be a current Level 2 umpire, in good standing with an affiliated club in Canada.

The Chief Umpire is primarily responsible for implementing and developing a competent, knowledgeable team of qualified officials to successfully conduct the annual officiating program at all Canadian Championships.

In addition to serving as the Head Event Umpire at the Canadian Championships, the Chief Umpire will serve on the National Officiating Committee. For a detailed job description, click here: Chief Umpire Job Description .

Timeline:

  • Call for Expressions of Interest: February 22, 2024
  • Deadline for Expressions of Interest: March 31, 2024
  • Review panel, consisting of 3 members of the National Officiating Committee reviews applications and make recommendations to the National Officiating Committee: April 14, 2024
  • National Officiating Committee makes recommendations to BCB Board: April 30, 2024
  • BCB Board appoints Chief Umpire: May 16, 2024
