Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club Grand Opening

Bracebridge, ON | July 8, 2017

On Saturday, July 8th, Muskoka’s newest lawn bowling club will officially open its doors to the public in Bracebridge, Ontario. This historic event will feature local dignitaries Norm Miller, MPP and Graydon Smith, Mayor of Bracebridge, as well as Ken Simpson, President of the Ontario Lawn Bowling Association. The newest Ontario club has been the recipient of two large grants: $150,000 from the Ontario Trillium Fund and $25,000 from the New Horizons for Seniors program. These grants will allow the Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club to purchase new equipment and to offer “learn to bowl” programs to both juniors and seniors this summer.

“This new club is a big deal in the lawn bowling world, and will be important for the community”, explained Sally Mills, President of the Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club.  “After many years of work, it’s hard to believe that this day has finally arrived.  We are so excited to bring lawn bowling to Muskoka!”

“I am thrilled to see the town of Bracebridge rally together and support the opening of this new lawn bowls club! Well done Muskoka!” says Bowls Canada President David Calam.

Muskoka LBC will be offering free entry to the facility on Saturday from 1-4pm, as well as free instruction, use of lawn bowls equipment and refreshments.
