Applications Being Accepted to Officiate at all 2025 Canadian Championships

The application window is now open for umpires to apply to officiate at any Canadian Championship in 2025:

Interested officials can fill out the form here to confirm their interest in being selected to officiate at a national championship. The National Officiating Committee will review applications and officials will be contacted if selected. Preference will be given to officials who can attend events for their entire duration.

Umpires who are selected to officiate at national championships not only gain the benefit of experiencing Canada’s highest competitions, but will also see the following benefits:

  • Paid an honorarium of $30/round for Level 2 umpires, $20/round for Level 1 umpire. Level 1 umpires are considered assistants and must work directly with a Level 2 umpire
  • Meal plans for the event paid for.
  • Travel subsidization (for out-of-province officials) or mileage (for out-of-town officials).
  • Accommodations provided for out-of-town officials who are selected.

Any Umpire who is a member in good standing at a Canadian bowls Club is eligible to apply; Umpires must have completed one of the approved Safe Sport courses and be currently certified.

Deadline to apply: Friday July 4, 2025. The final selection of officials will be determined by the National Officiating Committee (NOC) by July 18, 2025
