Bowls Canada Announces Para Athlete Selections for 2025 International Competitions

Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) is proud to announce the Para athletes who will represent Canada in two major international competitions this year: the inaugural World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the Atlantic International Challenge (AIC), hosted this fall in Windsor, Ontario.

These selections mark a significant step forward for Canadian Para bowls, as the nation prepares to compete against top-ranked countries on the world stage and welcome international competitors to home soil.

World Cup Team – November 4–8, 2025 | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Representing Canada at the first-ever World Cup, a Gold-sanctioned World Bowls Series event, are:

  • Anne Hibbard (Alberta)
  • Jack Smart (Alberta)

This elite competition will bring together 12 of the world’s top-performing bowls nations, competing in Open and Para Singles and Pairs events. The format will include fast-paced play with 30-second shot clocks, set play, and high-stakes tie-breakers. Canada’s Para athletes are ready to rise to the challenge on this global stage.

AIC Para Squad – September 18–25, 2025 | Windsor, Ontario
The following athletes have been selected to compete in the Para division of the Atlantic International Challenge, hosted by Bowls Canada at the Windsor Lawn Bowling Club:

  • Andy Caldwell (Ontario)
  • Anne Hibbard (Alberta)
  • Louise McLean (Ontario)
  • Dave Ruckman (British Columbia)
  • Jack Smart (Alberta)
  • Jean Stairs (New Brunswick)

This year’s AIC will feature Para athletes from Canada, Scotland, and Ireland, in an exciting international test match format. The event marks a key milestone in the continued growth and visibility of Para bowls in Canada.
