The last day of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Selection Camp wrapped up on February 28.  Players enjoyed the opportunity to test their tactical and technical skills against the Scottish national team, whose athletes are arguably amongst the best in the world.  Scotland’s Head Coach David Gourley commented on a noticeable improvement in the overall performance of the Canadian Squad.

“All our athletes rose to the challenge and showed Scotland, and themselves, that they are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. The future is bright!” said HP Selector John Aveline.

“The Canadian athletes displayed a professional presence both on and off the green.  I was very proud to be associated with such a talented group of individuals,” commented Anna Mees, BCB Executive Director.  Mees went on to praise the efforts and hard work of the High Performance Committee lead by Don Caswell.  Caswell was joined by fellow committee members John Aveline, Vincent Mai, George Boxwell, and Bob North.

The announcement for the selection for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Squad is expected to be made before the end of March.
