Canada to Send Second Pair to World Juniors
Ottawa, Canada | November 24, 2015
Canada has been notified by World Bowls that a second Canadian entry will be accepted to the 2016 World Junior Championships. A proven training ground for up and coming internationals, leading bowls nations have been selecting age eligible national team bowlers to compete at this event. A second entry gives Bowls Canada Boulingrin an opportunity to follow suit and provide a high level competition to our young national program bowlers. Age eligible national program athletes are invited to submit their application form to the
Bowls Canada office by December 11, 2015. Using the criteria outlined in the 2016 World Junior Championship Selection Criteria, candidates will be ranked for consideration and the selected athletes will be notified prior to December 29th.
The event is hosted from April 9-15, 2016 at Broadbeach Bowls Club in Queensland, Australia. Broadbeach is the training home of Canada’s Ryan Bester. This tournament features Under 25 bowlers from across the globe competing in singles and mixed pairs.
