Two Canadian Bowlers will Battle the World’s Best at the 2025 Champions of Champions

Canada’s Betty Van Walleghem (Manitoba) and Owen Kirby (Ontario) are ready to don the red and white at the 2025 World Bowls Champion of Champions event in New South Wales, Australia.

Van Walleghem and Kirby earned their place as the Canadian players at the Champions of Champions by winning the women’s and men’s singles title at the Canadian Championships in 2024.

Hosted by cluBarham, the event will be held on two canopy-covered greens, with fantastic club facilities, on-site accommodation, and the chance to explore the River Country and surrounding areas. The competition will take place from September 20-25th, 2025. Games will be livestreamed throughout the duration of the event via World Bowls YouTube channel.

32 nations – 27 men and 30 women – will gather from across the globe to compete for the world title men’s and women’s of Champions of Champions. This annual event brings together the men and women who have all reached the height of their singles journey in their own countries. The best playing against the best on the world stage!

As a recognized World Bowls event, bowlers will be able to earn ranking points that contribute to the international standings.
