Canada’s Representatives Named for the 2025 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship

Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) is thrilled to announce that Erik Galipeau and Baylee Van Steijn have been selected to don the red and white and represent Canada at the 2025 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship, taking place at the world-renowned County Antrim Indoor Bowling Club in Ballyclare, Northern Ireland from December 1st to 4th, 2025.

The World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship is the ultimate showcase of emerging talent, bringing together the very best young bowlers from around the globe. Athletes will compete in men’s and women’s singles, as well as the electrifying mixed pairs discipline, where competitors from different nations team up to create unforgettable combinations of skill, adaptability, and teamwork. Fans can expect thrilling matches and remarkable displays of international camaraderie.

Canada’s representatives are no strangers to the spotlight. This past August in Edmonton, both Erik and Baylee captured the U25 Canadian Championship titles at the BCB Youth & Junior Championships. Erik also partnered with Alberta’s Teryn Mitchell to win gold in the Foster Lang Mixed Pairs event. Beyond domestic success, both athletes boast extensive international experience, having already represented Canada at previous World Bowls Junior Indoor Championships, the Commonwealth Games, the World Bowls Championships, and most recently the Atlantic International Challenge. Their proven ability to excel against the world’s best leaves no doubt that they are ready for the challenge ahead.

“These two young athletes embody the future of Canadian bowls,” said BCB National Team Head Coach, Derek Dillon. “Their skill, dedication, and international experience make them powerful contenders on the global stage. We can’t wait to see them shine in Ireland.”

BCB also extends sincere thanks to all the talented athletes who applied for this opportunity. The depth of talent across the country is inspiring, and the next generation of Canadian bowlers is proving that the sport’s future is in excellent hands.

Come December, Erik and Baylee will be ready to put it all on the greens, showcasing not only their personal determination but also the strength of Canadian bowls on the world stage. As they prepare to take on the world, one thing is certain: the Canadian lawn bowls community will be rallying behind them every step of the way.
