The 2025 Canadian Lawn Bowling Competition Season Comes to a Close
Bowls Canada Boulingrin is happy to share the great successes of the 2025 Canadian Lawn Bowling Competitive season, which closed out after the 2025 Canadian Indoor Qualifier.
“As our lawn bowling competition season comes to an end, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our athletes, host organizers, clubs, officials and volunteers for an outstanding year”, says Britany Gordon, CEO. “This season has showcased not only incredible performances and unforgettable moments, but also the dedication, camaraderie, and spirit that defines our sport. I want to congratulate all of our athletes – whether stepping onto the green for their first national event or defending a national title – on their outstanding performances and remarkable achievements.”
The Canadian Indoor Qualifiers, hosted at Pacific Indoor Bowling Club (PIBC) in Vancouver, British Columbia, welcomed 12 men and 12 women to compete head-to-head in singles events. The opening ceremonies took place on Tuesday, October 21st, with the first day of play starting the following morning (Wednesday, October 22nd). The medal rounds started on Friday, October 24th, with the gold medal matches taking place on Saturday morning (October 25th).

Two new Canadian Indoor Champions were crowned at the event, awarding them the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2026 World Bowls Indoor Championships hosted at Ocean Grove Bowling Club in Victoria, Australia next May. Joanna Cooper (AB) and Pat Bird (AB) took home the victory at this year’s Indoor Qualifiers, making them 2025 Singles Champions in both indoor and outdoor competitions! This was a significant achievement in its own right, but even more impressive as the exact duo won the right to be Canada’s representatives at the 2026 Champion of Champions World Bowls event by capturing the Canadian national single titles earlier in the season.
