Bowls Canada Announces Burlington LBC as Host for the 2022 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships

Ottawa (ON)

Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) is pleased to announce Burlington Lawn Bowling Club will host the 2022 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships. The event is expected to take place from August 15 – August 25, 2022.

Featuring men’s and women’s pairs, fours, and outdoor singles, the Canadian Championships are BCB’s largest national competition. Burlington LBC hosted the pairs and fours in 2019, so bowlers should know exactly what to expect when they come to the Burlington LBC in August of 2022: quality greens and a great group of volunteers to support the event.

Host committee chair Charlie Roach said, “we’re ready and excited to witness the best bowlers that this country has to offer to bowl on our greens.”

With 168 athletes descending on the Burlington club for over a week, the safety of all participants and volunteers will be paramount. The event will see increased safety mechanisms in place to keep COVID-19 at bay such as increased cleaning and sanitizing.  Further measures for 2022 will include the elimination of sanctioned social events, no centralized accommodation and no organized shared transportation.  While these measures will be a significant change from previous years, they were deemed necessary to ensure the likelihood of having safe competitions in 2022. Further COVID-specific requirements will be determined closer to the event in consultation with local public health authorities.

The Pairs and Fours are scheduled to take place from August 15-20, followed by the Outdoor Singles from August 21-25.

As the official awards and recognition supplier for BCB, Nothers The Award Store will provide all medals and awards for the event.
