Bowls Canada Boulingrin Announces Renewed National Championship Structure

Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) is pleased to share the confirmed formats and structures for the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships series. The 2026 calendar of events will include the Para Bowls, Youth (U18) & Junior (U25), Majors featuring the Singles, Pairs, and Fours disciplines, and Seniors (65+) Triples.

BCB extends its appreciation to their provincial partners, the National Championships Evaluation Task Force members, and the Board of Directors for their contribution and collaboration throughout the championship planning process. This collaborative approach also included careful consideration of feedback provided by athletes and stakeholders when finalizing the structure of the National Championships going forward. BCB sincerely appreciates this input and looks forward to a successful and competitive 2026 season.

The dates and formats for each of the National Championships in 2026 are as follows:

Para Bowls August 3-9 12 ends, 2 hr time limit, including trial ends 4 bowls
Youth and Juniors (Singles) August 10-16

Set play (2 x 7 ends), 3-end tiebreaker, 2 hr time limit, including trial ends

4 bowls
Youth and Juniors (Forster-Lang Pairs) 16 ends, 2 hr time limit, including trial ends 3 bowls
Majors (Pairs) August 16-20 16 ends, 2 hr 15 min time limit, including trial ends 3 bowls
Majors (Fours) 14 ends, 2 hr 15 min time limit, including trial ends 2 bowls
Majors (Singles) August 20-24 Set play (2 x 7 ends), 3-end tiebreaker, 2 hr time limit, including trial ends 4 bowls
Seniors (Triples) August 25-30 14 ends, 2 hr 15 min time limit, including trial ends 2 bowls

 

BCB will be issuing a call for host clubs this week, for those interested in hosting a National Championship this season.
