Canada’s Ryan Bester named as Inductee in the first-ever World Bowls Hall of Fame

Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Ryan Bester for being inducted into the World Bowls Hall of Fame!

The World Bowls Hall of Fame recognizes the sport’s most outstanding players, both past and present, from across the globe. Along with 30 other inductees, Ryan will be invited to attend a special induction ceremony for the first-ever Hall of Fame. Ryan, accompanied by his Canadian teammates, BCB Head Coach Derek Dillon, Para Bowls Coach Pat Vos, and BCB CEO Britany Gordon, celebrated this fantastic achievement at a banquet held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during the 2025 World Cup.

Bester is a decorated bowler who continues to make Canada proud every time he steps foot on a green. Ryan has won medals in three Commonwealth Games – 2006 (singles bronze), 2014 (singles silver), and 2018 (singles silver) – seven World Bowls Championships –  2004 (pairs gold), 2008 (singles bronze), 2012 (singles silver), 2012 (pairs bronze), 2016 (singles silver), 2023 (singles gold), and 2023 (pairs bronze) – three Atlantic/Asia Pacific golds – 2005 (singles), 2007 (singles), 2015 (pairs) – and many more domestic titles. Not only does Ryan demonstrate skill on the green and mastery of the sport, he embodies sportsmanship in every game.

Congratulations Ryan on this very well deserved accolade!
