The First Para-Bowls Canadian Champions have been crowned at the Windsor Lawn Bowling Club

The inaugural Para-Bowls Championship has come to an end in Windsor, Ontario. With the support of the community, directors, coaches, umpires, volunteers and most importantly, the athletes, this championship was a not only a great success but a step towards an inclusive future in lawn bowling in Canada. Congratulations to all athletes who participated in the event, especially to our first Para-Bowls Canadian champions!  The Para Bowls Championship had participants from 5 classifications. Below is a list of all winners from their respective divisions:

B1 – Visually Impaired

Geoff Connor (athlete) / Kathryn MacGregor (director) – gold

B2 – Visually Impaired

Louise McLean (athlete) / Lianne Franklin (director) – gold

B3 – Visually Impaired

Elizabeth Mayo (athlete) / Pat Vos (director) – gold

B6- Physically Impaired

Chelsea Robertson – gold

B7 – physically Impaired

Andrew Caldwell – gold

Jack Smart – silver

Anne Hibberd – bronze

As the first of its kind in Canada, we appreciate all the hard work, dedication and support from not only our volunteers and host club but the entire bowls community. Canadian athletes were able to demonstrate that no matter your impairment, everyone has the ability to perform at a national level.
