Bowls Canada Boulingrin Appoints Colin Docherty as Regional Coach for Ontario
Bowls Canada Boulingrin (BCB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Docherty (Windsor, Ontario) as the organization’s Regional Coach for Ontario, joining the growing Regional Coaching Network alongside Mary Wright (British Columbia), Pat Vos (Alberta), and Tammy Foster-Veinot (Nova Scotia).
The Regional Coaching Network aims to provide additional coaching resources at a local level and serve as a bridge between local athletes and national team programming. Regional Coaches support athletes identified within the High Performance pathway and help developing bowlers build the skills, knowledge, and competitive experience required to pursue success at the international level.
Colin brings a wealth of experience in sport leadership, coaching, and athlete development. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in marathon running, soccer, triathlon, and wrestling as both a competitor and coach, while also serving in leadership roles within several sport organizations. He is currently a board member with the Windsor Lawn Bowling Club and has previously held executive positions with Triathlon Ontario, the Windsor Triathlon Club, and the Windsor Wrestling Club.
“I have always been a passionate sport enthusiast,” said Docherty. “Whether competing, coaching or working at a board level, I find great pleasure in seeing participants achieve their highest goals. I hope that my experience from competing and coaching in marathon running, soccer, triathlon and wrestling can bring some value to the sport of lawn bowls.”
