Champions Crowned at Burlington Lawn Bowling Club

Medals have been awarded for men’s and women’s pairs and fours at the 2022 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships! Here is the list of results: 

Women’s Pairs 

Ontario A’s Elizabeth Cormack and Chrystal Shephard defeated Manitoba’s Elaine Jones and Betty van Walleghem 23-11 to claim the gold medal. In the bronze medal match, Alberta’s Jenn MacDonald and Joanna Cooper defeated British Columbia A’s team of Rainbow Lung and Jenny Siu 23-11. 

Women’s Fours 

Nova Scotia’s team of Tammy Foster-Veinot, Jackie Foster, Debbie Foster, and Lorraine Bezanson defeated Saskatchewan’s Jean Roney, Jordan Kos, Heather Hanoski and Tracey McPherson 18-13 to claim the gold. In the bronze medal match Ontario A’s team of Val McWilliams, Kathy Smith, Cheryl McBain, and Pat Kostecki defeated British Columbia A’s team of Mary Wright, Annie Mathie, Belle Chan, and Colleen Gillies 15-14.   

Men’s Pairs 

Nova Scotia’s Steve Ogden and Steve Bezanson defeated Alberta A’s team of Greg Wilson and Derek Dillon by a score of 16-11 to claim the gold. For bronze, British Columbia B’s team of Earl Luk and Paul Lee defeated British Columbia A’s team of Hirendra Bhartu and Tim Mason by a score of 17-9. 

Men’s Fours 

Alberta’s Pat Bird, Francis Standen, Mike O’Reilly, Jon MacDonald defeated Nova Scotia A’s team of Braeden Campbell, Liam Campbell, John Siteman, and Raymond MacDonald 16-8 to claim gold. In the bronze match, Saskatchewan B’s team of Carter Watson, Brandon Watson, Patrick Schlotter and Darrell Hanoski defeated Ontario A’s team of Vince Donohoe, Glen Patton, Gary Butineau, and Mark Mcfadyen 16-14.  

 

The top women’s provincial team, Ontario A, won the Lady Alexander trophy, while the top men’s provincial team, Alberta, won the Cy English trophy.
