August 19th, 2022

Ottawa ON

The 2022 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships are nearing completion of the first half as the round robin has wrapped up for the men’s and women’s pairs and fours. After nine games, the following teams will be advancing to tie-breakers or medal rounds:

Women’s Pairs

Ontario A completed pool play with an almost perfect round finishing 8-1-0. That being said, Manitoba’s very solid record of 7-1-1 will create a gold medal match. Alberta’s record of 7-2-0 and Bristish Columbia’s 5-3-1 means the two will face each other for the bronze medal match

Women’s Fours

Saskatchewan, with a record of 7-1-1 will be playing for gold against Nova Scotia, who had a record of 6-3. Ontario “A”, who finished with a 5-2-2 record will face British Columbia “A”, who had a 5-3-1 record, in the bronze medal match.

Men’s Pairs

Alberta ‘’A’’ with a record of 7-1-1 is still awaiting their opponents as Nova Scotia (6-3-0) and British Columbia ‘’B’’ (6-3-0) will duel it out on the green in hopes of playing Alberta in the gold medal match. The team who comes up short will face British Columbia ‘’A’’ in the bronze medal match.

Men’s Fours

Alberta will be playing for gold as they were very successful in pool play with a nearly perfect record of 8-0-1. They will be playing Nova Scotia, who has managed to achieve a total of 18 points with a record of 6-3-0.  Saskatchewan ‘’B’’ (5-2-2) will face off against Ontario ”A” (5-3-1).
