Indoor Singles Championships kick off in Vancouver
Vancouver, British Columbia | November 3, 2014
Athletes are ready to bring their top game at the Indoor Singles Championships in Vancouver, B.C. this week. Players are coming from across the country and will be vying for gold.
On the men’s side, there are twelve bowlers competing including Vince Mai, the 2013 defending champion. The competition is high and all bowlers will have to play their hardest this week to move into the medal rounds. Many of Canada’s top bowlers are competing in Vancouver including 2014 Commonwealth Games athlete Tim Mason, who will be looking to stand on top of the podium.
While there are eight athletes on the women’s side, competition will not be any easier. Defending champion, Kelly McKerihen, will be looking to take home the gold once again. Kelly has had a successful year including attending the Commonwealth games as well as being a part of the winning NAC team in Arizona last month.
All athletes will compete against one another, with 11 rounds being played on the men’s side and seven for the women. Medal matches will be played on Saturday, November 8th with champions being crowned that afternoon.
