Linda Ng and Jerome Kirby are set to represent Canada at the 2023 World Bowls Indoor Championship

Linda Ng and Jerome Kirby are set to compete at the 2023 World Bowls Indoor Championship at the Warilla Bowls Club in Australia. The pair will be representing Canada after claiming gold at last year’s Canadian Indoor Championships. Ng & Kirby will be competing as teammates in mixed pairs and in their respective singles category. Let’stake a look back on how Linda and Jerome earned their way to Australia.

In the 2022 Women’s Indoor Singles gold medal match at the Pacific Indoor Bowls Club in Vancouver, it was a back-and-forth battle between Bobbi-Jean Charlton and Linda Ng. With Ng claiming the first set 10-7, Charlton played fiercely to try and force a tie-break. Despite being up two shots going into the final end of the second set, Charlton wouldn’t be able to defend her title as Ng drew a second shot on her last bowl to tie the set 8-8 and claim gold.

In the Men’s Indoor Singles gold medal match, Jerome Kirby rebounded from his round robin loss to continue his consistent style of play. With great draw bowling, Kirby wound up winning in straight sets 12-5 and 9-5 over Tim Mason to claim the gold medal.

Linda and Jerome will begin play in mixed pairs on May 6th at 9pm. As for singles, Linda’s first match will be on May 7th at 8:30 pm and Jerome’s will take place on May 8th at 1:45am. Goodluck to our fellow Canadians! We are cheering from afar!
