Port Credit gets set to host 2022 Canadian Youth Championships

Ottawa, ON | July 25th

The 2022 Canadian Youth Championships are set to begin at the Port Credit Lawn Bowling Club in Mississauga, Ontario. This event is being supported by volunteers from the James Gardens LBC in Etobicoke. The competition takes place from July 31 – August 6, 2022 and will feature the top youth bowlers from across the country in men’s and women’s Under 18 and Under 25 divisions. The top four bowlers from each division will be named to Canada’s Youth Development Squad for a one-year term.

The Port Credit Lawn Bowling Club features 8 natural grass rinks.  Thanks to the support of the Government of Ontario and Tourism Mississauga, this event will be one for the ages after a two-year hiatus from the pandemic.

National Squad athletes Baylee Van Steijn (ON), Erik Galipeau (ON), and Owen Kirby (ON) will be amongst the competitors looking to punch their tickets for the 2022 World Youth Championships.  Additionally, this event is also one of the stops for national team scouts who are looking to identify Team Canada’s developing top talent.  Play begins on Monday, August 1st.
