Singles Winners Crowned at the Burlington Lawn Bowling Club

What a fantastic week at the 2022 Canadian Singles Championships! Thank you to the fabulous Burlington Lawn Bowling Club and Congratulations to all our finalists that brought us incredible bowls all week long.
Men’s Finalists:
Pat bird (AB) faced off against Mike Wagner of Ontario in the gold medal match. Pat came out the gates fast and furious, while Mike Wagner played magnificent bowls to take ends away from Pat, it was ultimately the consistent play of Pat Bird that led him to the 21-6 victory to collect the gold medal. Although not reflected in the score, the bronze medal match was a very intense match as Cary Lucier (ON) and Mike McNorton (ON) battled on the green. After the dust settled, it was Mike McNorton claiming bronze at the 2022 Canadian Championships with a score of 21-7.

Women’s Finalists:

After a perfect start gave Jan Robinson (AB) an early lead, Jordan Kos (SK) was able to string together multiple ends and gather momentum quickly. After a great performance from both athletes, Jordan Kos took the victory with a score of 21-17 to take the gold medal. The bronze medal match was also very close, Joanna Cooper (AB) and Anne Morissette (QC) gave it their all as this back-and-forth match went the distance. Joanna Cooper managed to edge away with a 21-14 win and collecting the bronze medal.
